Good information on a little known aspect of Airwar

This book opened my eyes to an earlier time than I knew existed in aerial combat in that area, and continued into the soccer wars, my prime interest in the book. Well illustrated. My copy had a disc with a lot of narrative which I had printed and bound. I hadn't seen this done before but it added a great amount of info.

Five stars are not enough

Every so often a book comes along that is so good that the highest possible rating isn't high enough. This is that sort of book. I read plenty of aviation history books, and this is, simply, the finest aviation history book of the last ten years.
The amount of research that obviously went into this book, and its presentation, are both mind-boggling. Most of these conflicts I had never even heard of, and yet here is the whole story, complete with photos and color profiles.
Even if the locations covered and/or the period covered is not your "cup of tea", you still have to at least see the book to see how aviation history should be documented. Hikoki's books are generally the last word on their subjects, but this one even surpasses that. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

Excellent resource for modelers on Latin American aviation

This book is an excellent source of photos and scale drawings for Latin American warplanes for modelers. A plus for the book is that even though there isn't much text in the book, Dan Hagadorn provides a link to his text suppliment for those who do want to read up the history of the battles listed in the book (If you plan to print the text, make sure that you have plenty of paper and printer ink!). This book is an excellent source for me due to the fact that I was able to find rare pictures of planes that I would like to build such as Cuban P-38, T-33, B-26 and P-47 aircraft, Honduran P-38, F4U-5, and T-33, Argentine Meteor, F4U-5 and F-86 and Costa Rican P-38 and P-51 aircraft. There is also a chapter on US operations in Latin America during WWII along with Mexican and Brazilian operations with US Forces in the Phillipine and European theaters. If you have an interest in Latin American air combat, this IS the book to get.
